Marco Island Race Day Instructions:



TRANSITION AREA OPEN 6:00 AM

CHECK IN:

             Pick Up Timing Chip           

       
            NO BODY MARKING Race Morning.

            RACE TATTOOS and RACE AGE GROUP IDENTIFIERS are in your Race Bags.

            The age group identifiers MIGHT NOT BE YOUR EXACT AGE BUT Should REPRESENT Your Division.

            Persons without I.D. numbers on their body or  wristbands WILL NOT be allowed in transition area.        


Transition Area will close at 7:45 am and reopen after the start of the last wave.

 

 

Race Start: 8:00 Am

 

  8:00 am   Wave 1     Blue         

  8:04 am   Wave 2     Yellow     

  8:08 am   Wave 3     Green      

  8:12 am   Wave 4     Pink         

             

 

Numbers in Race Bag



     Race Tattoos

            Place on Bilateral Upper Arms (Right and Left)

            Place Age Identifier on Right Calf.

 

    Swim Number

             Place Number on side of Cap.

 

    Bike Number

            Place Number  on Seat Post.

            Place Helmet Number- Front of Helmet.

 

    Run Number

            Pin on Front of Shirt or Shorts.

            May use Race Belt.

 

    Timing Chip

          PICK UP RACE MORNING.

                 Velcro Chip goes on Your Ankle.

                 (MUST BE ON ANKLE)

                May Safety pin Chip if needed.

                Must turn in Timing Chip after Race or you will be charged $75.00.

 

No Headphones or Music allowed.

No Drafting.

USAT Rules Apply.

 

 

SWIM
MUST WEAR SWIM CAP PROVIDED.

Walk North on the beach 240 yards from the Marco Marriot to the swim start.

Swim straight out to the large orange buoy and turn south - left  around the buoy.

Swim South to the next orange buoy and turn left around the buoy.

Swim towards shore to the swim finish.

 


BIKE

NO DRAFTING.

ABSOLUTELY NO HEADPHONES.

BIKE COURSE IS OPEN TO TRAFFIC.

Ride SMART and SAFE.

 

WALK / RUN  BIKE Out of Transition Area and Over the Timing Mat.

Head SOUTH

MUST WALK/RUN BIKE OVER TIMING MAT TO GET TRANSITION TIME.

MOUNT BIKE After or at MOUNT LINE.

Bike Helmet Must be on and BUCKLED BEFORE

LEAVING TRANSITION AREA.

 

 

Bike NEXT TO MEDIAN ON COLLIER BLVD

Both Going Out and Coming Back.

Not sure where Collier Blvd is ?

It is the Road the Marriott is on and will be Heavily Coned.

 

Dismount Bike at DISMOUNT LINE.

WALK/RUN  Bike in Transition Area and Over The TIMING MAT.

 

RUN

 RUN South to END of  Transition area then turn North inside cones in Transition Area.

Head to access Road to the Beach.

Run down access Road to the Beach.

Run North on the Beach to First Orange Cone ( Near Condos)

Run to the water and Turn South at Orange Cone

Run South Down The Beach near the water to the end of the Beach

 Run 1.5 Miles

 

Water Stop and Timing Mat at 1.5 Miles.

 

Turn and Run North on the Beach Near the Condos on the Hard Packed Sand to The Finish Line on the Beach.
